The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.

For all those who have been waiting to see when Winnies Coffee Shop in Bay Shore would reopen comes this news: Its open. Its still called Winnies. But former owner Tony Bellucci is no longer affiliated with the place, which has been overhauled and remodeled.

Its now owned by Pamala Wood, who said she attended the Culinary Academy of Long Island in Syosset and was sous chef at Flynns Fire Island in Ocean Bay Park. Wood said she is calling the place Winnies because its a Bay Shore icon and if you change the name, youve just jinxed yourself.
