Gran Paradiso Italian Cuisine is serving house-made tagliolini, gnocchi and paccheri in the former Island Park digs of Meson Iberia.
While the place is named for a national park in the mountains of Northern Italy, chef-co-owner Benny Collado and his partner (and cousin), manager Bernardo Collado, hail from the Dominican Republic. Previously, Benny Collado cooked at Toro Pazzo in Wantagh and Dodici Restaurant in Rockville Centre.
On Collados menu: a salad of roasted beets and baby spinach ($8.95), garganelli al salmon affumicato, or hand-rolled pasta with smoked salmon in a pink sauce ($16.95) and veal chop paillard ($36.95).
