Paces Dockside just dropped anchor in the newly renovated space at the Strongs Water Club & Marina in Mattituck that once hosted Touch of Venice. While the new restaurant shares partial ownership with Paces Steak House in Hauppauge and Port Jefferson, it is not, per se, a steak house, according to co-owner Joanne Pace.
The menu does feature three steaks. But, Pace said, the real focus is on local products. A sampling of items: Crescent Farm duck wings ($12), baked local clams ($10), roasted Crescent Farm duckling ($28), capellini with lobster ($28) and Mattituck seafood stew ($27). Finish, perhaps, with beignets ($10) or New York cheesecake ($9).
In summer, there will be outdoor dining, as well as a tiki bar and poolside tables. Indoors are two dining rooms one with a fireplace, one with a water view. And, added Pace, an ultramodern bar.
