Las Viñas, the Peruvian restaurant that served Manhasset from 2010 to 2013, has resurfaced in Mineola.

It occupied the building at 118 Plandome Rd. that is now Schout Bay Tavern, and has taken over the Jericho Turnpike space that used to be Poloros Restaurant.

Chef-owner Mark Astorga was born in the United States, but his parents are from Lima, Peru.

His menu hits all the sweet spots of Peruvian cuisine: rotisserie chicken ($12 for half a bird with rice, beans and a side), the raw-fish starters ceviche and tiradito ($13 to $16), anticuchos de corazon (grilled beef heart, $9), empanadas ($6), lomo saltado (seared skirt steak with onions, $18), grilled steaks and seafood ($20 to $23).

On the lunch menu: sandwiches, burgers and entrees, none more than $11.
