The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.

This week, Peter M. Gianotti reviews JW's Public House in Glen Head, which, he says, “brightens up dining along Glen Head Road, indoors and out.” The newcomer specializes in “traditional seafood and homey cooking with a few twists” and gets a two-star rating.

In nearby Glen Cove is  Hazuki Japanese Fusion, which Joan Reminick calls “that suburban essential: the good, reliable neighborhood Japanese restaurant.” It  succeeds despite the presence of a few stray Thai items on the menu and also receives at two-star rating.
