The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.

Glenmorangie, the smooth single-malt Scotch, will be the beverage highlighted at a four-course dinner on Oct. 10  at George Martin in Rockville Centre.

The cost is $80 per person, plus tax and tip. It includes a bottle of Glenmorangie, the old slogan of which was "Glen of Tranquility."  The Thursday dinner starts at 7 p.m.

Glenmorangie's director of distilling, Bill Lumsden, will host the event. Glenmorangie Lasanta will be served with butter-roasted sea scallop; Quiinta Ruban with beet carpaccio; 18-Year Old with blue-cheese crusted filet mignon; and Nectar d'Or with dessert, either a brownie sundae or lemon crème brûlée.

George Martin, also known as George Martin The Original,  is welcoming autumn with several dinners specials, too.

On Sunday, it's a a $24.95. three-course fixed-price dinner with main course choices herb-roasted chicken, fettuccine with "Nana's gravy" and mushroom-stuffed meatloaf.

On Monday: a $39.95 filet mignon dinner; and on Tuesday, a "bistro classics" number with selections that include boneless beef short ribs Bourguignonne, pan-roasted chicken stuffed with Gruyère cheese and ham; and salmon Provencal.
