The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.
Off the Hook, the kitschy-casual seafood shop and restaurant that recently closed in East Northport, has been reborn in Massapequa as Off the Hook Fresh Fish Market & Grill. Now, its former executive chef, Chris Fusaro, is also its owner.
While the new place may be small -- only 16 seats -- Fusaro said it does offer table service. On the menu are such items as New England clam chowder, crabcake, Cajun grilled swordfish, shrimp po' boy, spaghetti with clams (red or white) and wild salmon marinated in a miso teriyaki glaze. There are also burgers. Menu prices run from $6.95 for the soup of the day to $23.95 for Chilean sea bass; most items cost less than $20.
Off the Hook Fresh Fish Market & Grill is at 1036A Park Blvd., Massapequa Park, 516-590-7433.
