Get your burgers and shakes rolling. After the success of its first Long Island location in North Babylon, Sonic will open a second drive-in spot on the Green Acres Mall property in Valley Stream on Monday, Feb. 20.

The move will bring Nassau County its first Sonic location, with Cinos, the Harrison, N.Y.-based franchisee, aiming to have a third drive-in restaurant open in East Meadow before the end of May. A fourth space, in Nesconset, is currently under-construction, with plans to expand into Riverhead before the end of the year.

The 1950s-style eatery is known for its hamburgers, hot dogs and custom shakes and drinks delivered to customers car-side by servers on roller skates.

Menu items will include Sonic’s signature burgers ($1.39 to $6.59), hot dogs ($1.99 to $4.59) and sides. Also available are a wide selection of beverage options, with more than 20 different shakes (prices vary per size).

A private friends and family event is being held at the Valley Stream location on Saturday, Feb. 18, to raise money for charities and local schoolteachers through Sonic’s Limeades for Learning initiative.

After the Feb. 20 opening, the location will be open from Sunday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to midnight and 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
