The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.

Actor Steve Schirripa, best known for his role as Bobby Bacala on “The Sopranos,” is stirring the pot these days in new ways. He’s come out with Uncle Steve’s Italian Specialties, a line of organic pasta sauces.

Schirripa will be offering tastes as well as autographs Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. at Grace’s Marketplace in Greenvale. It’s all in honor of National Meatball Day. (What, you didn’t know that meatballs have a day of their own?)

The sauces — marinara, tomato basil and arrabbiata — won’t be in Long Island stores until this summer, but they’ll be for sale at $7.99 a jar at Sunday’s event.

Grace’s Marketplace is at 81 Glen Cove Rd., Greenvale, 516-621-5100, gracesmarketplace.com.
