Art Gustafson, chef-owner of Chadwick’s American Chop House & Bar in Rockville Centre, is featuring a $38 steak and ale prix-fixe dinner throughout September and October.
Start with the soup du jour or French onion soup (lobster bisque is an additional $4) or a Caesar or tossed salad. Then, select your steak: a 6-ounce filet mignon, a 12-ounce boneless rib eye or a 12 ounce N.Y. shell steak. You get a choice of sauce, too: Bearnaise, brandy pepper cream, the restaurant's own steak sauce, a Gorgonzola fondue, a Carolina BBQ sauce or a port wine reduction. Conclude with gelato, sorbet or the dessert du jour.
As for the ales: Make your own pairings from a roster of brews that includes Heineken, Blue Moon, Bud Light, Guinness, Brooklyn I.P.A. and Sam Adams.
