The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.
To "Cheers!" and "Sante!," add "Prost!"
Mirabelle restaurant, known for its exceptional French and New American cooking, adds a biergarten to its specialties on summer Sundays.
If the weather allows, the patio at the Three Village Inn will be open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. as a traditional beer garden. But don't expect long, communal benches under the lights. It will be more bucolic. And the brews will be local craft beers, among them Greenport Canard Noir and Lessings Blonde. You can sample $5 draft beers and $7 appetizers, including grilled sausages; an Alsatian-style thin-crust pizza, with bacon, onion and sour cream, called flammkuchen; and Mirabelle's housemade pretzels.
The biergarten will be open each Sunday through September.
