The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.

A festival featuring tastings from restaurants and purveyors in Stony Brook, the Setaukets, St. James and surrounding environs is set for  Sept. 23 at the Holiday Inn Express Stony Brook (3131 Nesconset Hwy., Centereach) .

The event, The Taste of the Three Village, will benefit the Stony Brook University School of Journalism, specifically a scholarship established in memory of Lee Lutz, late editor of The Village Times Herald.

Participating restaurants include Ragazzi Italian Restaurant in Nesconset, Pace’s Steak House and The Fifth Season in Port Jefferson and Pentimento and Jake Starr Café in Stony Brook. Also contributing wares: Benkert’s Bakery in Centereach and Pindar Vineyards in Peconic. Click here to see the full list.

Tickets are $50 for admission and $100 for sponsorship; they can be purchased at the door, online here or by calling 631-471-8000.
