Dinner @ Dock's With Chef Gigi gets two and a half stars from Newsday critic Joan Reminick. She recommends an appetizer of tender smoky grilled calamari on a bed of arugula, among other dishes, at the East Rockaway location that chef Pierluigi “Gigi” Sacchetti transforms into an informal Italian restaurant every Thursday through Sunday.

Newsday critic Peter M. Gianotti gives three and a half stars to Luce & Hawkins in Jamesport where the recent tasting menu included shiso-leaf tempura and lenslike rounds of Peconic Bay “water gel” flanking lustrous, thin rectangles of sushi-grade tuna.
