Tramonto on the Bay has opened in the former home of Brio, just across Shore Road from Manhasset Bay.
Brio’s chef, Manuel Varrera, remains. An Italian chef, Gianni Giordani, composed the menu and visits periodically to guide the kitchen.
The Italian menu includes thin-crust pizzas, salads and starters, pastas and mains. Among the more unusual offerings are a salad of fava beans, beets, goat cheese, bacon and apples, and spinach-ricotta-mushroom-filled “rotolo” baked in a pink sauce and served over crispy eggplant.
Most appetizers are priced in the low teens, pizzas in the mid teens, pastas in the high teens, mains in the low twenties.
There's no parking lot adjacent to the restaurant, but patrons can park a few yards north, in the Sisina lot.
