The vegetarian population of Long Island has a new place to call its own. It's Vege Favor, occupying the spacious Islip storefront that, years ago, housed King’s Wok. The menu features vegetarian fare with a Chinese accent.
Manager Kathy Zhu said the counter-serve eatery is “green and healthy” in both design and menu, offering freshly squeezed and blended juices, along with lots of fresh vegetables, noodles and dumplings, as well as Chinese classics made with soy-based meat, seafood and chicken substitutes.
On the menu: scallion pancake ($1), pumpkin soup ($2.99), kung pao chicken ($6.99), eggplant with garlic sauce ($6.99), vegetable lo mein ($3) and steamed vegetable dumplings ($3).
