Vine Wine Bar is celebrating its three-year anniversary with a series of wine classes. The first one, on Wednesday, April 3 at 7 p.m., is entitled Wine 101 and will teach participants the basics of wine tasting: what is sweet, what is dry, what is fruity; how to distinguish oak-fermented wines from steel fermented; what are tannins, etc.
The evening will start with a glass of Prosecco, after which at least four wines will be tasted and discussed, along with some (small) food pairings. Cristina Lemos, a Certified Sommelier with a great deal of restaurant experience, will be the teacher. The class will take about an hour and costs $35 per person. Space is limited.
Vines owner, Lynn Mione, anticipates a new class every month. Future classes will focus on specific regions, varietals and styles.
