The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.

Many beers will be hoisted this weekend, and they won't be only Guinness and Harp. Here are three places where you can celebrate with a brew and more.

There's an exceptional selection of Belgian brews at Waterzooi, where the food is a good match. It's buoyant, festive, right with a group. Tasty dishes include onion soup; mussels with fries and mayo; carbonnade a la flamande or beef stew with brown ale; the namesake fish stew; and, of course, Belgium waffles.

Guest beers supplement the array of house brews at BrickHouse Brewery, a casual, upbeat establishment. The food is suitably pubby but goes beyond that. Blue Point oysters, littleneck clams, shrimp cocktail, nachos, burgers, wraps, sandwiches and main courses ranging from sauerbraten to jambalaya.

The Smithtown branch of Croxley's has 75 beers and an apropos menu that's highlighted by German specialties such as bratwurst, smoked pork chops and sauerbraten. Chicken potpie, chicken wings, shepherd's pie made with beef, mussel pots and burgers are popular, too.

Waterzooi, 850 Franklin Ave., Garden City; 516-877-2177.

BrickHouse Brewery, 67 W. Main St., Patchogue; 631-447-2337.

Croxley's Ale House, 155 W. Main St., Smithtown; 631-656-8787.
