After a major push to rebuild in the wake of superstorm Sandy, Wildfish in Freeport has opened for the season.
Its been a wild winter, and thank goodness weve been able to put the place back together, said chef Brad Rubano, who co-owns the seafood restaurant with his father, Tony.
Brad Rubano said the place was flooded, its electric and the furniture destroyed. Tables, chairs, flooring: all new.
A $14 prix-fixe lunch is available Monday to Friday from noon to 2 p.m. and may start with lobster bisque and move on to a salmon wrap or Cajun chicken club sandwich. A three-course, $24 dinner, offered 4 to 6:30 p.m. nightly, features New England clam chowder, Caesar or chopped salad, followed by orange and dill salmon, balsamic glazed chicken or linguine with white clam sauce. For dessert, theres apple strudel or sorbet.
From the a la carte menu: a starter of BBQ mussels ($13), a Long Island lobster roll ($25) and an entree of citrus soy tuna ($28).
