Harboring curiosity about the vintages of Oregon and Washington? Then you may want to think about booking a reservation at Coolfish in Syosset for Wednesday, April 14. That’s when the restaurant will stage a five-course Pacific Northwest wine dinner at $60 a person.

Highlights of the menu include a first course of seared diver scallop with asparagus, Applewood bacon and yam puree, to be paired with a Boedecker “Purity” un-oaked chardonnay 2007 (from Oregon); also, a fourth course of porcini-dusted lamb loin with morel mushrooms, served with a Barnard Griffin syrah 2008 (from Washington).

In a more local vein, Coolfish has a Castello di Borghese Vineyard wine dinner planned for April 21, also at $60 a person. Call the restaurant for details.
