The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.
Wolffer Estate Vineyard, the Sagaponack producer of many top Long Island wines, is opening a restaurant in Sag Harbor.
Wolffer Kitchen is slated to move into the Main Street address occupied last year by The Cuddy. The plan is to specialize in American fare with a Mediterranean accent. The emphases will be on local ingredients and, of course, local wines, beers and spirits.
Roman Roth, winemaker and partner at Wolffer Estate, will oversee the wine program. Deena Chafetz, who has cooked in Manhattan and Northern California, will be the chef. A June opening is planned for the 29 Main St. restaurant.
