Type: Rock music, Karaoke and Open jams, Rock and more, Music, Karaoke, Nightspot Special features: Bar scene Description:

There are evenings where a long line of energetic people seems to keep refreshing itself as barhoppers arrive to party. And unlike the many halls that lose steam in the summer, the Nutty is located only blocks from the Fire Island-bound docks, meaning all the "warmed-up" folk forced to cross the bay back home early due to limited ferry service can continue their fun here until the lights come up.

LAYOUT: Two floors here, both with bars  --  but the bash takes place downstairs with a small stage that plays to a medium-sized dance floor. There's a patio space out back as well, allowing for those squashed inside to catch a breath.

THE CROWD: Generally young 20's to mid 30's, from all points.

BOOZE: Drinks cost an average $3-$8, with a full bar,  Friday happy hour from 12 p.m.-8 p.m., nightly drink specials and a "yard menu" that offers summer drinks served in 3-foot long containers for $15 each.

FOOD: A menu of appetizers, wraps, burgers and salads  --  all under $10.

TUNES: A mix of popular cover bands and DJs playing hip-hop, dance and pop hits.

KARAOKE: Wednesdays starting at 8 p.m. The weekly karaoke night includes $5 all-you-can-eat wings and $5 pitchers of Coors Light.

Second location of The Nutty Irishman in Farmingdale.
