The opening ceremony of the London Olympics will be held today. Join in the festivities with a taste of the very appetizing city. Here are two local restaurants that offer it:

CANTERBURY ALES

For 35 years, Canterbury Ales has been cooking and pouring in downtown Huntington. Wander in for a Scotch egg, wrapped with pork sausage and deep-fried; steak-and-kidney pie; shepherd's pie; prime rib; a ploughman's lunch; bangers and mash, or grilled pork sausage and mashed potatoes; even a Cornish pasty. Of course, there are burgers and wings, too. And: Fuller's ESB and London Pride on tap.

HOUSE OF DOSAS

Indian restaurants provide some of the best food in London; House of Dosas does the same for Nassau and Suffolk. Come here for excellent vegetarian dishes, especially those dosas, or rice crepes with potatoes, onions, garlic chutney, tofu, cheese, more. Uthappam, rice and lentil flour pancakes, rival them. And savor the vegetable curries, ignited to "spicy hot." Delicious.
