Type: Lounge, American Special features: Bar scene, Happy hour Price range: $$$ (Expensive) Description:

Located in a beautifully preserved old library, the aptly named Library Cafe offers a wide selection of pub favorites and contemporary entrees, including coconut-crusted shrimp, penne alla vodka, steak frites and blackened mahi mahi. With two-story windows and old-fashioned twinkling gas lamps at the entrance, this casual spot has ambience, while inside a long wooden bar gives patrons a front seat to a mirrored wall with liquor bottles shelved to the rafters (bartenders climb built-in ladders to retrieve them). The drink menu takes a literary turn, too, with choices such as "Dante's Inferno" and "Tom Clancy's Hunt for Red October."
