Long Island bakeries with cafes

BEACH BAKERY CAFE (112 Main St., Westhampton Beach):

BEACH BAKERY CAFE (112 Main St., Westhampton Beach): A confectionery mainstay and favorite hangout in Westhampton Beach since 1988, this bakery recently more than doubled its space and added savories to its sweet lineup. There's plenty of seating and a comfortable patio. Using a printed checklist, customers can design their own sandwiches, wraps and salads, or they can avail themselves of dozens of options, from the Dutch Man (ham, Gouda, onion, tomatoes and herb butter on a croissant) and O'Susanna (roast beef, Brie, onions, tomatoes, mesclun and balsamic on French bread) to the Out East cobb (bacon, ham, salami, egg, croutons, Cheddar on romaine). For dessert, try the black-and-white cookies, deep-fried croissant or blueberry crumb pie. (Oct. 15, 2013) (Credit: Randee Daddona)
