Type: Italian Special features: Lunch Price range: $$$ (Expensive) Description:

Carrying on the ideals of the original Little Italy home store, the Vincent’s of Carle Place has a menu that offers classic Italian cuisine. An example of the traditional edibles is the list of appetizers, as Vincent’s antipasti includes baked clams Oreganato, spicy calamari Arrabiata and eggplant Rollatini—while pastas like rigatoni, penne and linguine arrive in sauces and oils customary to other authentic-styled establishments. There are entrées of chicken, veal, pork and seafood cooked in familiar fashions (Francaise, Marsala, Parmigiana, among others), as well as a marinated skirt steak—served with caramelized sweet onions, mushrooms and hot cherry peppers (called the “Steak Cassalinga”).

Bobby Marisi offers a taste of Vincent’s Clam Bar pasta with sauce that's gotten a Consumer Reports thumbs-up. (Feb. 2, 2012)
