Easy answers to Social Security FAQ
Have a question about Social Security? Chances are, it's already been asked, and answered.
AARP has unveiled an online Social Security Q&A Tool that has collected more than 11,000 questions about the program with answers from experts. Many of the most popular questions are as basic as you can get. For example, "If I retire at 62 or 64 and begin benefits, will I get an increase when I get to 66?" (Answer: no.)
The limitation of the tool is it generates questions only from a list of keywords. For example, if you have questions about getting benefits from an ex-husband or ex-wife, you start by typing in "ex-spouse" to get a list of all the questions on that subject.
The tool is free to use, but registration is required. To access the tool, go to bit.ly/aarp-tool
