Still, it's a good idea to be ready for a weather emergency. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued its hurricane preparedness fact sheet for 2014. Among the recommended tips: Store a three-day supply of bottled water for each person in your household; one gallon of water per person per day. Also, now is a good time to inspect the cans of food in your pantry. Replace any rusted or swollen cans.
