Hearing loss is a lot like getting older. It kind of sneaks up on you.

Several studies have shown that about half of boomers and two-thirds of seniors have suffered some degree of hearing loss. But because hearing loss happens gradually, many adults aren't aware they don't hear as well as they used to and typically blame others for mumbling or speaking too softly. Other key indicators you have suffered hearing loss are when family members complain you have the TV or radio turned up too loud or you find it hard to follow a conversation.
