Many who try to be on technology's cutting edge instead find themselves on the edge of irritation, as new software programs bring with them a learning curve that causes stress and dismay.

One of the programs that has frustrated users recently is Windows 8, the new operating system from Microsoft. Because Windows 8 is drastically different from previous Windows versions, users are reporting high anxiety levels as they try to navigate through changed menus and options.

If you've bought a new computer that has Windows 8 installed or are thinking of upgrading, a free seminar could be helpful. Experts from SeniorNet, which specializes in tech lessons for adults 50 and older, will give some hands-on advice that can make a transition to Windows 8 easier.
