A free health conference in Glen Cove can give you insights into how to keep your brain healthy as you get older.

At the "Gray Matters" workshop, experts will discuss several issues, including cognition and the aging brain, the link between Alzheimer's and obstructive sleep apnea and foods that can keep your synapses firing on all cylinders.

There also will be a presentation of what you lose -- and what you can gain -- as your brain ages. And for those caring for a loved one with dementia, there will be a discussion on compassionate caregiving.

The conference is Wednesday, 9 a.m.-noon at The Club at The Metropolitan in Glen Cove. A free continental breakfast is included.
