Looking for something different to do? How about an evening of swing under the stars with a patriotic theme?

The West Point Jazz Knights Military Band is holding a free outdoor concert sponsored by the Long Island State Veterans Home on Tuesday. The Jazz Knights, a mainstay of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point for more than 40 years, play a wide range of musical styles, including big-band favorites, swing music and recent popular songs, including the music of Billy Joel.

The concert is outside the State Veterans Home headquarters on the campus of Stony Brook University Hospital, 100 Patriots Rd. In addition to the performance, there will be a patriotic laser light show.

The show begins at 7:30 p.m., rain or shine. Bring blankets and lawn chairs. For more information, call 631-444-8606.
