If you haven't drawn up a power of attorney, health care proxy and living will or aren't even sure how they differ, a free event may be helpful to you.

Long Beach Public Library is holding an advanced directives workshop on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Advanced directives are binding legal documents you set up so you can communicate your wishes about what health care and medical procedures you want -- and don't want -- in case you are incapacitated and are unable to make the decisions yourself.

The workshop will be led by Daniel Okrent, a staff attorney with Nassau/Suffolk Law Services' senior citizen unit.
