Each year, Nassau honors a county resident 60 or older who has demonstrated "outstanding concern and action" by helping others. If you know someone who has helped make the lives of others easier or more fulfilling, you can nominate him or her for the Senior Citizen of the Year award. The people helped by your nominee can be in any age group.
To be eligible for the award, the nominee cannot work for any government organization, unless the role is as an unpaid volunteer.
Nominations must be submitted on an official application form, which you can get by calling 516-227-8919 or by sending an email to Michele.Greenblatt@hhsnassaucountyny.us. Applications must be received by March 18.
