Online company delivers soup to seniors

If you know a senior who has cut back on home cooking, a bowl of freshly made soup can warm the body, feed the soul and provide needed nutrition.

Spoonful of Comfort, an online seller of soup, offers soup and extras (bit.ly/senior-soup) in a $50 gift bundle designed specifically for seniors. Included in the gift-wrapped package is half a gallon of chicken noodle soup, rolls, cookies and a handwritten note.

Spoonful of Comfort also offers several "college-care" packs ($25-$75), so you can send soup to your favorite student.

The idea for Spoonful of Comfort came to founder Marti Wymer when her mother, who lived thousands of miles away, was diagnosed with cancer.

Wymer says a portion of the company's proceeds is donated in her mother's name to the American Cancer Society.
