Do you know seniors who have given back to the community and enriched the lives of others? Help them get recognized for their accomplishments by nominating them in this year's Savvy Senior competition.
The Savvy Senior award, sponsored by Melville-based Association of Generational Experts for Seniors (AGES), is given to Long Islanders for "heroism, volunteering or any contribution for the benefit of others." There are separate awards for the savviest male and female.
To nominate a senior, send a 200-word typed or printed essay to: AGES Savvy Senior Award, Box 774, Melville, NY 11747. You also can email your nomination to savvy2013
@agesresourcenetwork.com or upload it at agesresourcenetwork.com. Deadline to nominate someone is Aug. 31. Winners will be honored at AGES' fourth annual Savvy Senior Day on Sept. 7 at the Holiday Inn in Plainview.
