Here's a prescription for midwinter cabin fever. Take a trip to the beach.

The Roslyn Landmark Society is presenting "Swept by Ocean Breezes: A History of Coney Island," a lecture by Brooklyn historian and writer John Manbeck. The lecture will include a slideshow of Coney Island through the years, as it went from a virtually unused peninsula to a summer haven for sweltering city dwellers.

The lecture, which includes a dessert reception, is free. It will be held Wednesday, at the Atria of Roslyn on Landing Road, beginning at 7:45 p.m.
