"Lockwood and Co.: The Screaming Staircase," by Jonathan Stroud (Disney / Hyperion Books), is a fast-paced book. While reading this book, you'll feel your heart beating against your chest. There is a lot of action that will make you ecstatic.

This book is about teenagers discovering ghost mysteries. Kids up to a certain age are the only ones who can see ghosts. There are many agencies with children as their main workers. Almost all the agencies have adult supervisors, but Lockwood and Co. doesn't.

Anthony Lockwood, George Cubbins and Lucy Carlyle go through ghost-discovering adventures and the difficulties of being unwanted. Lockwood and Co. discovers mysteries before anyone else, but is that good or bad? Will this independent company survive, or will it disappear?

If you like action, scares, suspense and humor, Lockwood and Co. is waiting for a new employee. But, don't wait too long -- ghosts are taking over the world.
