Free admission at Long Island museums, parks

If you have a Bank of America and/or a Merrill Lynch credit or debit card, you can enjoy free admission to several family-friendly museums and other cultural institutions on Long Island this weekend.

As part of "Museums on Us," more than 150 leading U.S. cultural institutions, in 91 cities across the country, open their doors to bank cardholders on the first full weekend of each month.

The venues participating on Long Island include:

-Old Westbury Gardens (71 Old Westbury Rd., Old Westbury)

-Long Island Children's Museum (11 Davis Ave., Garden City)

-Long Island Museum of American Art, History  & Carriages (1200 Rte. 25A, Stony Brook)

-Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium (180 Little Neck Rd., Centerport)

Simply show a photo ID and a valid Bank of America/Merrill Lynch card at the door for one free general admission which is limited to each cardholder.

Other upcoming weekends include Oct. 6-7 and Nov. 3-4.
