State police made 12 DWI arrests between midnight Saturday and the end of Labor Day.

In Riverhead, police nabbed six drivers -- three men and three women, the youngest driver 17 years old -- and charged them with a variety of alcohol- and drug-related infractions. Police said the first arrest took place Saturday at 11:35 a.m., the last at 1:03 a.m. Tuesday.

Additional DWI-enforcement campaigns are expected to take place on Long Island throughout the year.
