Melissa Woods, 33, was driving her Toyota Solara early Sunday morning on Woodbury Road in Cold Spring Harbor when she came upon the scene of an earlier crash in which a car driven by Eric Licursi, 24, hit a tree. Suffolk police say Woods car struck Licursi's car and the car of a motorist who had stopped to help Licursi. Police charged Woods with driving while intoxicated.

Eric Licursi, 24, of Syosset, early Sunday lost control of his car in Cold Spring Harbor and crashed into a tree. A few minutes later his car was struck by a woman who police charged with driving while intoxicated. Detectives are continuing to investigate the accident and are trying to determine whether the first or second impact proved fatal.
