2 dead, 1 injured in Kings Highway crash in Brooklyn

Two women were killed and a man injured after an early morning car crash Sunday on Kings Highway in Brooklyn, police said.

The collision occurred at 4:45 a.m. when a gray Nissan Murano went out of control while traveling north on Kings Highway between Snyder and Church avenues and collided with a gray 2006 Ford Explorer in the opposite lanes, police said.

Police said the Murano, occupied by a two women, ages 43 and 31, crossed multiple lanes and ended up in oncoming traffic, where it took a hit to the passenger-side door during the collision with the Explorer.

The two women were taken to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead. Their identities were not released, pending notification of next-of-kin.

The man was taken to Kings County Hospital Center, where he is listed in stable condition, police said.

No arrests have been made, and police said the investigation is ongoing.
