A shopper left $320 in counterfeit money Friday at the Riverhead Kmart after he was stopped from using it, but officers later arrested him and two accomplices, Riverhead Town police said.

The suspect left in a vehicle, but a store loss prevention employee gave the vehicle plate number and the suspect’s description to the police, authorities said.

An officer found the vehicle and stopped it on Commerce Drive, police said. Inside were three men and more counterfeit money, police said.

Johnoy Crockwell, 20, and Adrian Lewin, both of Elmont, were each charged with two counts of first-degree criminal possession of a forge instrument, police said. Christopher Justin, 22, of Rosedale, Queens, was charged with one count, police said. Crockwell was also booked on unlawful possession of marijuana, police said.
