Two men robbed a Baldwin market at gunpoint on Friday night, with one kicking the door open after a worker tried to keep them from leaving by closing the front door, Nassau police said.

One robber jumped over the counter at the Express Mart at 757 Foxhurst Rd. at 10:22 p.m.

His face concealed by a red bandanna, he showed a 30-year- old employee a silver handgun, demanding he open the cash register, according to a police news release.

The worker, one of three at the store, complied; the robber took an undetermined amount of money from the register and the already open lottery register.

A 43-year-old worker then shut the door to try to prevent the robbers from leaving, but the one who had jumped over the counter kicked the door, shattering it.
