A stolen sedan driven by a 14-year-old boy with two passengers sped off from Hempstead Village police in a pursuit that ended when the car crashed into a house and a patrol vehicle, authorities said Wednesday.

The driver of the Nissan Maxima refused to pull over just before 10 p.m. Tuesday when a police officer learned the sedan was stolen, Hempstead Village police said.

The young driver lost control on Leverich Street and Lincoln Road, police said.

“Because of his inexperience, he misjudged the turn onto Lincoln from Leverich, and that’s when he crashed into the house,” said Lt. Natisha Robinson.

The boy hit the home’s front steps and at one point also struck a marked police SUV, authorities said.

He was taken into custody as a juvenile, but his two male teenage passengers escaped on foot, police said.

Officers searched in the yards nearby and along Holly Avenue, but did not find them, police said.

No injuries were reported, police said.

Other details, including whether the driver was charged, were not immediately available Wednesday night.
