Cops: OTB bettor charged with ID theft, larceny
It turned out to be a bad bet.
A Hempstead man used stolen credit card information to replenish his Off Track Betting account - costing two victims thousands and OTB a loss "in excess of $3,000," police said.
The incidents occurred between April 27 and May 9, Nassau police said. Richard Papile, 36, of 1335 Times Ave., was arrested Thursday.
