A Hicksville man was charged Sunday morning with stabbing another man in the chest, police said.

Nassau police detectives said Brian Aimar was seated in his 2007 Nissan Altima on Dartmouth Drive when he got into an argument with a 42-year-old male passenger at about 6 a.m.

Police said the fight escalated and after the unidentified man got out of the car, Aimar reached through his car window and stabbed the man in his chest before driving away.

The victim called 911 and was treated at a hospital for nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

Police said they arrested Aimar, who lives on Plainview Road, at about 6:50 a.m. on Cambridge Drive and recovered the knife they say was used in the stabbing.

Aimar is charged with second degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
