Merrick mother pleads guilty to beating son, 6
A Merrick mother pleaded guilty Monday to brutally beating her 6-year-old son with a belt, about two weeks after a jury found her boyfriend guilty of the same charges. Nassau prosecutors said Judge George Peck has said he will sentence Jessica Muniz, 30, to 2 years in prison for her crimes, which include second-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child....
