Nassau police on Monday said they are searching for the person who stole a dirt bike from the backyard of a Bellmore home early Saturday morning.

Seventh Squad detectives said a man entered the rear yard of a Nassau Street home at about 3 a.m. and removed the bike from a detached garage, wheeling it out of the yard and leaving in an unknown direction.

The suspect was described as of medium build and height, had a long, dark ponytail, and wore a light-colored shirt and pants.
