A Southold man has been arrested in the burglaries of two local barns in recent weeks and the theft of a shotgun from each one, police said.

Colin Volinski, 28, was charged with two counts of burglary, Southold Town police said. He was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon because he had a prior criminal conviction, police said. Police did not immediately have details about the prior conviction.
