VOTING

7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at The Wheatley School.

BUDGET

The district is proposing a $58,290,375 budget for 2017-18, a 1.41 percent increase from the current $57,478,695.

The tax levy would increase 0.98 percent, from $52,439,920 to $52,955,796.

This increase is within the district’s tax-cap limit of 1.48 percent, so a simple majority is needed to approve the budget.

The district did not provide the amount of taxes on an average single-family home.

Average teacher salaries would increase by 0.7 percent with an increment increase of 1.67 percent. The district plans to hire four teachers and add an Advanced Placement Capstone seminar class.

A proposition asks voters for permission to use $1 million of capital reserve funds for projects including the installation of a security vestibule and the reconditioning of basketball and baseball facilities. The district said the measure would not increase the tax rate.
